Merit System
High Point Baptist Academy recognizes many students show outstanding
citizenship by their conduct. A study of the Word of God reveals the fact
that along with corrective discipline, God also recognizes excellent
conduct and productivity. By seeking to maintain a balance in our
discipline system, HPBA has created a series of awards with the title
"Merit System." Listed below are some areas which will be
recognized as meritorious quality:

Music
Music classes are scheduled for grades 1-6 with numerous electives offered
to students in grades 7-12. Course offerings include: hand bells/hand
chimes, vocal music, instrumental music and individual private lessons.

High Point Baptist Academy admits students of any race, color, national,
and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities
generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does
not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin
in administration of its educational policies, admission policies,
athletic, and other school-administered programs.

All new students at HPBA must have current tetanus inoculation and
tuberculin testing. All students upon original entry, whether kindergarten
or first grade are now required by law to have certain immunizations:

Three doses of DPT, Td, or DT Vaccine (for
protection against tetanus and diphtheria) |

Three doses of Oral Polio Vaccine or if
prescribed by a physician, four doses of Salk (Injectable Polio
Vaccine) |
Forms are to be completed by the doctor or dentist and returned to the
school. Completed forms are to be returned on time, or a written
explanation must be given for a delay in compliance. A physical
examination by the family's physician is required for entrance to the
school for all new students. Also required are current tetanus inoculation
and tuberculin testing and proof of complete immunization. Failure to
provide the needed information may delay or prevent your child's
enrollment or attendance at school.
